CJ Basilios
I make so many things that I can’t keep track of them all.
I am first and foremost a writer, and fiction is my absolute favorite. I am generally working on many written projects at once, in various stages of development. Right now it is the final showdown of a villainous mage and the Stalwart knight pledged to defeat her. Next month its a monster pirate ship with a captive princess—or, her body double. And of course, these stories are all very queer.
Everything else I do supports and informs that in some way. I learned to crochet when I was small; I remember my Nana teaching me just the double crochet on the porch, and things spiraled out from there. Fiber arts are a meditative way for me to let my brain unlock for writing, and since I’m always writing, I have a lot of crochet to share.
Drawing is similar for me, where sketching characters or places helps to think through the idea— until I get so excited that I simply can’t not begin writing it down.
